Text message

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

I tried this on my ATT phone and it works.

You can seen a text message from your e-mail to a mobile phone user free of charge.

Of course. For me, I have no additional cost for my text messages, but they are a part of my data plan for my smartphone. Most of my friends will have to pay 20 cents for a text message which is a total rip off!!!

And I specifically did not want text when I got my new phone from ATT. Looks like this could be a new form--and a very nasty form--of spam.
Especially since my cell phone is my "home line" for various places, (for example, on-line purchases), since I am rarely at home.

Ditto....and there are no plans that I'm aware of that exclude it.

I had a "wrong number" text this week....I'm to pay for that? I think not.

Should it become an issue, I've come up with the idea of calling customer service to have each text charge removed. From a pay phone. I figure their every attempt to get me for a dime will cost them $5.
