JT does have some acting chops. He is probably the most talented to come out of the whole "boy band" scene.

I attribute that to his years at Disney. Britney was good on SNL too, as was X-tina. Keenan Thompson, a Nick alum, also does a great job on there.

It doesn't. HBO basically lied about the two hour movies to placate the rabid fans. It's over.

You know David Milch "backburnered" Deadwood so he could work on John From Cincinnati, right?

That was HBO's call. They didn't want to negotiate the money with the actors on Deadwood, so they did the backburnering hoping the actors would fold. They didn't.

Milch was no help in this.

They also wanted to delay the high production cost which is also why they cut Rome to two seasons instead of the original plan for three.

JFC was underrated and misunderstood, but it would be hard for most people to find many of the main characters sympathetic or accessible. It was doomed to failure from the beginning for that reason alone. Plus, "surf noir" just didn't catch fire the same way "cussing cowboys", or Mormon polygamy did.

The guy who played Butchie Yost was brilliant as was Ed O'neil. Milch is a dialogue writing genius.
