Gray Television Inc.

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

Young Broadcasting hovers at 4 cents a share. (KRON and others).
Gray is looking shaky, I wonder when they will panic and really cut expenses?

I've never owned a pennys worth of stock in my life, but you're saying that it's down from what the following poster on Google Finance stated on Oct 2nd?

Gray stock is at $1.57 a share. This is down from a high of almost $16.00 a share. No matter how good a quarter Gray has it will do very little to offset terrible management. Having a lot of television stations does not make Gray communications valuable. Most of the stations are unable to turn a profit. This hurts the stations that are able to turn a profit because their profits don't go back into the individual station. Their profits go to the corporation which is terribly mismanaged. In order for Gray communications to continue on for more than a year or two they need to liquidate the unprofitable stations, discontinue secondary channels, and try to put profits from profitable stations to use to improve the remaining stations. But they won't do this because they're too frickin stupid to see the way to turn a profit. So my advice to the people who run Gray Communications, when you put the barrell in your mouth, make sure no one you like is standing behind you.

Man... I might buy a 6-pack worth of stock at that price!

Genlock,

IMHO I don't think Chairman Bray has many smiles about Gray's stock price at the moment. He is most likely thanking whatever deity he worships, that he doesn't have to roll over WVMH's notes right now in this financial market. His turn in the financial crosshairs will come, just as it is right now for Gray. Mid-market stations like WCHS, WOWK, and WSAZ have a day of reckoning coming. I'm guessing it's gonna get ugly.

Secondly, the goodwill WSAZ has acquired over the years will be exceedingly difficult to kill off, in the minds of the public. If any outfit can do it, though, I suspect Gray could. At least that outfit is a public company so we can see just how bad the financial mess is.
