Welcome to Soviet Russia, Comrades!

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Whoever did this to Plummer Guy needs to be arrested. This is a serious invasion of privacy.

However, I have several friends who work within the government, or closely with them through government contracts. They tell me this stuff happens all the time, especially since 9/11 and the Patriot Act. There is a better than decent chance that all of us have been investigated by the feds at some point without our knowledge. I know I have because of the friends I hung out with. When they needed security clearance, the government checks everything, including your entire background, family, your friends, and their backgrounds.

We also had a friend who was Canadian, and overstayed his Visa working here. He was renting a room from someone who worked within the state department. Shortly after 9/11, he had to vacate and go back to Canada because all government workers were throughly investigated. And if they found him allowing an "illegal" to rent from him, he would have lost his job, and our friend would have been deported.

The State snooping on us is nothing new... But using that information to purposefully damage someone's reputation goes against everything this country supposedly stands for.

I still have a security clearance, but no "need to know".
I had to sign things that said they could shoot me if I screwed up.

Predicting HD's reply, I wrote:(Prediction: pure ad hominem comes next...or maybe some "poll")
And, then,.....
Hoosier Daddy wrote:Jeez, Arp ... the only self-proclaimed Messiah around here is YOU. With Lester and Jet Black licking your boots, of course....The Great Egotistical One.... The shoe is now on the other foot. You lost.
Dang, I'm good! "Pure ad hominem"...check! "Some poll"....check!

Liberals....having no logic, history, or principle from which to debate, they have no choice but to be just that predictable.

Ohmigosh! Cramer just yelled, "Fist me!" 8O

Okay, back to the post....
Despite your self-proclamations, none of you seem very happy to me.

That reminds me of your complaint that McCain seemed too happy. To that, I wrote, "with Good being an unimaginable concept, Evil perceives Good as some different form of evil it hasn't been able to quite figure out yet." Interestingly, you still just can't seem to understand us. 8)

It also reminds me of....

Arp’s Second LawLiberals have a flaw in their brains that causes them to incessantly project.

The Corollary to Arp's Second LawLiberals will always reveal to you what they're actually doing by accusing you of that which would otherwise never even occur to you.

The idea of defining yourself outside of some political term or human leader is foreign to you, isn't it?
Your first (and current) response to the election was/is to huff and puff and amp up all your falsified pre-election accusations against Barack Obama...
Name one and please show its posting both pre- and post-election. Good luck.
I'm waiting to hear how you're going to help and support your President Barack Obama after January 20, 2009 ... :D
Working for his defeat already! Thanks for asking! Now, I predict you'll next try to make some comparison to recent years, so I'll go ahead and answer right now:

Just like our fine military members' oath, ours is "to protect and defend the Constitution." And that doesn't mean just the paper it was written on....it means its ideas, ideals, and principles. For that reason, I begin working for this guy's defeat immediately. Defense is a legitimate function of government; introducing communism under euphemistic terms and engaging in persecution of those who question or defy it is not.

Hey, by the way, you know the real reason Jesse Jackson was crying the other night? At that moment, it sunk in -- with Secret Service now around BO all the time, Jesse'll never be able to actually get close enough to cut Barry's nuts off!

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

So there is no User Control Panel? Or when you click it there is no BOARD PREFERENCES tab?

For the record, the board's default time is set correctly. Any time difference outside of that is due to user settings.

Wow! I didn't know McCain was that slick, to have deep-planted a ringer in a house Obama was to tread the lawn of, years before the fact! Truly amazing. I'm starting to see your way of thinking, Hoosier - that JTP had to no right to question Obama Almighty if he didn't have a plumbing license, nor did Joe have any just cause to question O/A on taxes if he already owed any tax, because, Lord knows, a man who owes taxes has no right to worry about more taxes on top of that, even if those owed taxes were unbilled until JTP became famous. I wonder, though, how is JTP a liar? Yipes! A question! I withdraw it, I withdraw it!
God Bless Us, Every One.
