Re: Welcome to Soviet Russia, Comrades!
If the subject is going to be "Ohio's governor," I think that has been written as well as it could have been. The only logical alternative is to completely flip subject and object....Hoosier Daddy wrote:Dear God.Ohio’s governor placed on leave an agency director who was questioned over why state computers were used to find personal information on "Joe the Plumber."

My head is still spinning.
That, however, takes the sentence over into the "passive" area that press-ish people supposedly hate....An agency director who was questioned over why state computers were used to find personal information on "Joe the Plumber" was placed on leave by Ohio's governor.
But this comment matches past comments from HD when such an obvious abuse by his cronies has occurred -- "deflect and distract"..."change the subject immediately."
I'll simply say what I've said before: Democrats believe they have found their next West Virginia to enslave and loot, and, up through the longtime stronghold of Michigan, it just happens to create a nice corridor. The big growth industries are government jobs and suing people, and Ohio Democrats are trying to fool people into thinking new hospitals mean economic growth (they don't...they merely create new dependent populations made up of the elderly and those paid to keep them alive; both groups simply facilitate and justify the flow of gubmint money while adding no real productivity to an area).
Just like in the similar regimes, past and present, of Europe, Asia, and so on, dissenters will be investigated for the purpose of generating a reason for persecution that is suitable for public consumption.
"I don't know the same things you don't know."
"Yes, you do; you just won't admit it!"
"Yeeee...it looks like a 'Belt Buckle & Ball Cap' convention in here......"

I found it ironic that the search turned up that he owed back taxes.... the very subject he was concerned about. I don't know that, as a Dem trying to generate a good "smear", I would have used that point given his question of the candidate.

I was just making a comment about the poorly worded sentence.
Is everything political to you?
Or are you still seething over having the election shoved up your ass sideways ...

I don't know that a 6% margin of victory qualifies as "shoved up your ass sideways".

Re: Welcome to Soviet Russia, Comrades!
Having his usual "deflect and distract by changing the subject" tactic called, I predict "deflect and distract by attacking the attacker" will be next!
You, too, will come to realize that Arp's Laws are just that -- scientific laws that have successfully passed through hypotheses and theory without a single piece of objective evidence to disprove them!
(Prediction: pure ad hominem comes next...or maybe some "poll")
Conservatives do not define themselves by political leaders; conservatives define themselves by personal liberty and the ability to be as good as possible, do as much good as possible, and be as independent and voluntarily interdependent as possible. Political leaders of the left can and do limit, punish, and persecute such things, but that does not and would not change who we are, only how easily we can go about being ourselves and leading others toward such freedom.
I've seen this election coming for some time...there's been no surprise.
First, there was the macro-swinging of the pendulum that favored the left if the right never figured out how to manage it...as best I can tell, the right never tried to manage it because the right never even became aware of it. Unfortunate, because I believe one of those who identified the pendulum of which I speak was a Republican pollster and researcher a decade or two ago.
The left has brainwashed and indoctrinated 1-1.5 full generations of kids through the union-controlled gubmint schools, so only the busy or unobservant would have been shocked by the easy swaying of the "young vote" from the entitled generation with made-for-tv events and read-verbatim-from-prompters speeches full of self-esteem and pop psychology buzz words.
Media helped lefty politicos create a literal alternate universe. There are many things you and others now believe that either never happened, are the exact opposite of what really happened, are complete violations of what history has demonstrated, and/or are completely contrary to the laws of logic, math, and science. Post-election actions and press conferences have been absolute jokes entirely devoid of truth or substance, yet they are portrayed as the arrival of the solution to everything that ails us with a nearly religious reverence. (The zenith of that might have been Brokaw's treatment of Jarret on MTP...the only thing he didn't do for her on the air was give her a massage!)
I was somewhat surprised by the use of union retirement funds to engineer the "financial crisis," though...that was shockingly effective and simply must be addressed at some point. I, for one, think it should be illegal for gubmint employees to unionize....after all, in addition to the obviously corrupt use of union money and the union-managed retirement money of its members to advance even bigger gubmint and engage in market manipulation, "management" and "employees" are one and the same in gubmint, and they make us their enemy and target!
So, "seething?" Heck, no! As I said before, it's the conservatives here who are still good-natured while you guys, even in supposed (possible) victory, remain angry and hate-filled. Sooner or later, you're going to have to admit this is simply your nature. I am disappointed that hippies will start dying with a leftist in office....I wanted them entering their painful chosen eternity knowing what meaningless loser-failures they've been rather than just suspecting it....

It is a victory, though. Rather than seeing more people become free from government and realizing that is in the best interest of all, we're likely to see more people become very dependent dependents who have trouble even conceiving of any other way.
Dang, that was fast!Hoosier Daddy wrote:Jesus H. Christ, Arp.

When I did that with articles from your beloved Athens and Huntington papers, you found fault with me rather than the writers. Other than the subject now being Democrats persecuting those who dare question the godless messiah, what changed?? As I already indicated, I don't think there's any better way to write it.I was just making a comment about the poorly worded sentence.
Gosh, no....that's you!Is everything political to you?
- Arp's Third Law – Liberals see everything as a political act, for, for them, it is.
- Arp’s Second Law – Liberals have a flaw in their brains that causes them to incessantly project.
The Corollary to Arp's Second Law – Liberals will always reveal to you what they're actually doing by accusing you of that which would otherwise never even occur to you.
You, too, will come to realize that Arp's Laws are just that -- scientific laws that have successfully passed through hypotheses and theory without a single piece of objective evidence to disprove them!
Geez! Still hateful and angry??!Or are you still seething over having the election shoved up your ass sideways ...

Exactly. "Victories" within a pie of fixed size are always half of the margin, not the margin.Lester wrote:I don't know that a 6% margin of victory qualifies as "shoved up your ass sideways."

Re: Welcome to Soviet Russia, Comrades!
I saw some newspaper opinion piece talking about the fact that a Google of "Impeach Obama" returns 1.6 million hits.
They failed to notice that it was a very small number of websites that actually support it... and 1.5 million+ newspaper articles, bloggers, and misc. websites REFERENCING that small minority.
Can't wait to see the spin machine now that the only thing it has to report on is itself.

Have you seen Schmidt on his various post-election appearances? It's very quickly sounding like all our biggest concerns about Google are not only true but are just getting some good scratches into the surface. Just on the "search" front, I expect certain things to become numerous while other things become few and difficult to find, making them appear much larger or smaller than they actually are.Lester wrote:I saw some newspaper opinion piece talking about the fact that a Google of "Impeach Obama" returns 1.6 million hits.

Re: Welcome to Soviet Russia, Comrades!

Jeez, Arp ... the only self-proclaimed Messiah around here is YOU. With Lester and Jet Black licking your boots, of course.
How stupid of me. Why didn't I just listen to The Great Egotistical One and realize. Everything is the fault of the media, the unions, and those damn pesky liberals who brainwash our youth and put flouride in the water and actually stood up to the Bush/Cheney/Rove (soon to be McCain/Palin) regime and said 'enough is enough ... you're all outta here.'
The shoe is now on the other foot. You lost. Once again, that's L-O-S-T. The Republican brand is being pulled from the shelf like spoiled dog food. Despite your self-proclamations, none of you seem very happy to me. Your first (and current) response to the election was/is to huff and puff and amp up all your falsified pre-election accusations against Barack Obama -- you know, the only thing John McCain, Sarah Palin, and FOX News talked about the last 30 days of the campaign. It's actually funny, you know. You're doing EXACTLY the same things you accused the Kerry supporters of doing in 2004.
I'm waiting to hear how you're going to help and support your President Barack Obama after January 20, 2009 ...

Yes, because Republicans nationwide magically transformed into Democrats. I pray Nancy Pelosi feels that way... it will be a quick 4 years.Hoosier Daddy wrote:The Republican brand is being pulled from the shelf like spoiled dog food. But back to the topic at hand. A Democrat used government computers to put a political smear on someone who exercised his first amendment right (In a tactful and respectful way... unlike all the dems that crashed Republican events) and there is nothing but silence from the left. SILENCE. This is even more "BIg Brother" than your beloved "Hate Crime Legislation"...
SILENCE.
Typical libs... "DISSENT IS PATRIOTIC!!!!! As long as you're on my side".

Wrong. Republicans (like me) looked at the direction the country was heading under Republican leadership and looked at the General Election choices for President and Vice President. The ones with half a brain jumped ship and voted for Obama/Biden.Lester wrote:Yes, because Republicans nationwide magically transformed into Democrats.Hoosier Daddy wrote:The Republican brand is being pulled from the shelf like spoiled dog food. There you go.
Nothing but silence? WTF? Ohio's DEMOCRATIC Governor (Ted Strickland) SUSPENDED Helen Jones-Kelley's ass. She may be fired over this and there may be criminal charges. If this were the Republicans, Karl Rove would have bought the guy a new car. By the way, Lester, "Joe the Plumber" was a McCain/GOP plant sent to heckle Obama. He is a tool. He is also a liar, a tax cheat, and he never was a licensed plumber. He's only a hero to the wicked, vicious Dittohead ultra Right Wing nuts. But back to the topic at hand. She's suspended with pay.... that's called a "Vacation"...
...except she's not burning vacation days to take it.
Joe The Plumber was a Republican plant... that's GREAT stuff! You guys won, can't you drop the conspiracy theory shit for awhile?

Standard procedure under the Ohio Administrative Code for a public employee accused of wrongdoing and under investigation. Strickland is following the law. She will be fired if these accusations are substantiated and will most likely face criminal charges. What are they covering up?Lester wrote:She's suspended with pay.... that's called a "Vacation"...

Oh, yeah... can't one of you "in control" guys set the clock on this board to the right time? Its now, Eastern Standard Time!
