WASHINGTON, D.C. (WSAZ) -- United States Senator Robert Byrd announced plans to step aside as chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate effective January 6th next year.
"'To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.' Those Biblical words from Ecclesiastes 3:1 express my feelings about this particular time in my life," Senator Robert Byrd said in a statement sent to reporters.
