This can't be serious...

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

By the way, I'm intending my "challenging" tone to be more playful, prodding, and motivating than harsh...I noticed that it's awful tough with the text to pick up on that....
"I don't know the same things you don't know."

"Yes, you do; you just won't admit it!"

"Yeeee...it looks like a 'Belt Buckle & Ball Cap' convention in here......"

This may be "truer" in some places, but I've been in WV long enough to see that this isn't so true here.

Dead end jobs are plentiful, and most people filling them don't have the skills or the smarts to get themselves out and on to better things, what exist here.

Even if they do, and they don't "know" the right people: preacher, politican, union goon, or nobody knew deir daddah, nobody's going to hire them, anyway.

"Work harder, earn more." I usually agree. But this isn't equally true everywhere in practice.

Crap. I need a Pepsi Max...

Bull hockey.

You can

A: Move.
B: Change careers to something that pays better.

I've done both, and it's worked out well so far. Yeah, I'd rather be in Elkins or South Point... but I'd much rather feed my family.

Obama Lays Plans to Kill Expectations After Election Victory
Barack Obama's senior advisers have drawn up plans to lower expectations for his presidency if he wins next week's election, amid concerns that many of his euphoric supporters are harboring unrealistic hopes of what he can achieve.

FWIW and to get this thread back in line with the original topic....

Has anyone else seen one of the newly designed Wal Mart stores with the new signage aligned with the new logo? Wow. It looks like the style of at the time they were acquired by K Mart. It looks the store designers from Hoffman Estates, IL went south to work in Bentonville, AR.
The first step in a successful revolution is to defeat all competing revolutionaries.

If moving isn't option, you're left with B.

With B, you have three choices:

A life-long, Gubmint job daddah gets ya
Mines
Medical, and even they are well underpaid compared to other places.

A is the best choice. But it's not always easy.
