I had to cover a congressional election 12 years ago in which one of the finest, most sincere people I have ever known was challenging an ignorant demagogue. It was that plain. As much as I believed in candidate A, it never even occurred to me to show a personal preference, on air or off. To do so would have insulted our listeners and both candidates. For God's sake, what was this woman thinking?
