CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) —
The state Board of Medicine has fined a doctor accused of asking a 17-year-old female patient to have sex with her sons.
In addition to the $1,000 fine, the board placed Dr. Katherine Hoover on five years of probation and ordered her to work under a supervisory physician during that period.
According to the board’s order, Hoover won’t be allowed to examine underage patients without chaperones. Her probation begins Oct. 6.
The board found that the doctor engaged in “unprofessional, unethical and dishonorable conduct.”
Hoover has denied the October 1995 incident, which allegedly occurred at a Philippi clinic.
The board has been pursuing disciplinary action since 1996.
Let's see...she was fined a grand, given five years probation and compromised her career all for doing what her sons were probably already doing, anyway, i.e., trying to get a young lady to have sex with them.
