Marshall University Broadcasting Program graduate Bill Hicks is part of the three-engineer team that will receive the 2007 National Society of Broadcast Engineers Technology Award at the national meeting in Madison, Wisconson. Dan Slentz (he lets me call him asshat), Bill, (calls Dan asshat too), and Edward Hedge, received the award for their HD-conversion work at WHIZ-TV in Zanesville, OH. Zanesville, to say the least, is a small-market television-island with both unique opportunities and challenges. Dan's landing a job in Ft. Lauderdale as a result. (asshat).

...a testament to how much time television station chief engineers have on their hands.

How'd someone who's only capable of carrying someone else's tools or cutting grass win a national SBE award?
