There are no LP assignments available in the Huntington metro. Never were.

But there sure is room for almost a dozen translators, half of them licensed AFTER LPFM was approved.

Anyone with access to mapping-software in 2003 could have found a LPFM hole in the area. I found about 4.
The FCC still requires a potential licensee to APPLY for the frequency before a grant.
There were no LPFM applications in this market when the LPFM window was opened.
You won't win the Powerball if you don't buy a ticket.

You can still "squeeze" in a frequency, UNLESS you're an LPFM.

That was my point.

LP's don't work on contour protection, just straight distance separation. There is talk of allowing contour protection and 3rd/2nd adjacent channel waivers based on d/u ratios same as translators use, but so far no movement on the issue yet.

For some reason, NAB lobbyists think a 100 watt LP on a 3rd/2nd adjacent might cause interference while a 250 watt translator will not.
