Bennigan's Bankruptcy
Bennigan's and Steak & Ale won't be opening today. Or ever again.

That sucks. I love Bennigan's spicy chicken/sausage egg rolls. I also remember when Steak & Ale was the only game in downtown Huntington for a cooked to order, prime cut of beef.

Re: Bennigan's Bankruptcy
I had not been to a Bennigan's since March 2000. I am probably one of the reasons the chain failed. Food was good, but not great. Service was good, but nothing to write home about. And the spinach dip was good, but everyone now has that on their menus.
In Philly, Bennigan's could never compete with Chickies and Pete's which is the best local pubs in this town. And despite their growth, they have not expanded beyond southeastern PA and southern NJ. Plus I have been regular at the original restaurant. Best part of Chickies and Pete's is that their entire menu can be eaten with out silverware. And for that matter, the do not have silverware in the locations.

Steak and Ale in Htown was awesome!
That was where you'd go on your birthday as they would give you a chocolate cake & take your Poloroid picture! LOL!
That's where I took my homecoming date for dinner my Senior year in HS....good times.
Damn I'm old.

I always enjoyed getting really ripped at the Charleston Town Center location and sitting in the area where you watch people walking and in turn make fun of them.

Re: Bennigan's Bankruptcy
I have to admit that Bennigans in Charleston was one of my favorite restaurants. I am sure they suffered after I moved back to Ashland in 2000 because I would drop $50.00 a week in there and another $50.00 at Outback.
I guess Kidd Conley will have to find a new place to hang in Snalbans.
