What in the hell does this mean? I noticed a few Union flyers posted at work today that said something like: Attention Union Members, The Lady In White Is Waiting. I tried to pry some info from a couple of union folks, but they wouldn't say. I do notice a woman with a white shirt on in the pictures of their picket last week. Is this the woman in white? Come on guys, what gives?

Anyone figure out what this means???

Not really. I've heard a couple of different things from different people, but one thing each explanation has is that there is a woman coming from, I think, New York in a white van. She is supposed to be a hard core union rep. who has done battle with the big boys and is organizing a major offensive towards BC. Look for another picket at another location very soon. As for the statis of their contract, I never have gotten a straight answer other than it's up at the end of August and the union president was waiting to hear an offering from the company. Seems the tension has let up a bit around the station. The union folks are still wearing their union shirts once a week. Guess we'll know soon enough what the "lady in white" is going to do.

Well, they are inserting local commercials in the colorbar HD feed.
This wouldn't happen if they had union operators.
Try that as a bargaining tactic.

Actually, no, they don't. No engineers on duty today and the MC operator, well, that's another story.

Contract negotiations can get rather ugly, especially when peoples' jobs are getting nuked, as well as the benefits for those who stay. The word I've heard is that Chairman Bray wants WOWK's technical types to accept substantially reduced benefits in exchange for keeping their jobs (kinda).
