Les Crane, RIP

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Les Crane, RIP

Post by jag »

I just read that Les Crane died on July 13. Hadn't heard that in the mainstream news.

Quite a set of pipes on that guy. Quite an attitude, as well--not one to back down from things.

"You are a fluke of the universe. You have no right to be here. And whether you can hear it or not, the universe is laughing behind your back."

Did not know that:

A). He was married to Tina Louise.

B). Melissa Manchester did the backing vocals to "Deteriorata".

C). Didn't know he named The Mamas & The Papas.

WoW!!!!! What a long, long, lost memory. I remember playing "Deteriorata", as a weekend DJ on WETZ-AM, in 1971. When reading the text from the song, It sounded familar, ran the U-Tube video....and it all came back. The other stuff of Les Crane I did not know. What a treasue trophy of Trivia this will become.
I'm just happy to know the Dougger!
