And the Barboursville location, at last check, was only open 11-5, Monday-Saturday. If it hasn't shut for good yet, I bet it soon will. From what I hear, Jimmy John's and Pita Pit together did quite the number on Quizno's downtown.

I love the Pita Pit! I go once a week(Tuesday's are double stamp days!).
I knew the guy that ran the Quizno's when it first opened but I believe he sold it to someone else. I only went a few times and it was just
for moral support. Once he sold out, I really quit going.

I went to Jimmy John's once and that's only because the Pit was too crowded. Their bread is yummy but its a little
overpriced for what you get.

I try to support the guy in our building that has Knuckles Sandwich Company. He has some tasty sandwiches...pizza breads, etc.

Lester, Pita Pit, not Pita Pizza....

It's on Fourth Avenue on the north side, about three blocks west of Old Main....not far from where Kinko's once was and Latta's....

As far as Quiznos, I visited the one in downtown Huntington a couple of times but was never too impressed. I only at at one in Mayfair, Philadelphia once as well. I never was fond of crispy meat and cheese and soggy, crusty bread. At least at Wawa, Quiznos style toasting is an option. And Wawa is a couple of bucks less than Quiznos.

Is the cheesesteak place in Pullman Square still there. When I am home this fall, I have to go there and see if it is close to an authentic Philadelphia steak sandwich. I had heard a rumor that they use Amarosa's Rolls like Tony Luke's in NYC.

(Note that Tony Lukes is a legendary South Philly cheesesteakery like Pat's and Geno's that opened a location in Manhattan with the plan to drive a daily delivery of rolls to the location to maintain authenticity.)

And I have to consider the region because I am certain that sharp provolone will not be a cheese option.

Boston Beanery appears to be a victim as well. The Ashland location did not open today and the franchise is for sale.

Any word on the Huntington location???

Yep. That's Benny's. It isn't bad. The wife loves the cheesesteak but I haven't had it. I usually get the BBQ something or another. It is similar to the Wild West BBQ at Steak Escape.

Midway is open and doing a landoffice business, though it closes early each night and all day on Sunday. Separately, it is reported that Arthur's may have gone bust.

Cheddar's in Ashland is also doing a huge business.

Hubs & I went to Cheddars a few weeks ago and it was pretty darn good.
I"m hearing that since Cheddars opened, you can actually get into Texas Roadhouse
without a 7 hour wait!

On the flip side, we went to Outback in Ashland on Sunday and it was dead as a doornail. Of course the
bread and shrooms were cold....that could be part of the reason...bad food.

BTW, did I mention my mad love for the Pita Pit?

I'm surprised that there's no love for the Quiz on here. There's one about 2 miles from where I live, right in the same complex where my gym is located. It works out great sometimes: hit the gym for an early evening workout, then snag one of those $5 large roast beef and cheddar sandwiches. This is a tough time to be in the restaurant biz, but I figured that there would be at least a few Quiznos fans on here.

And, not to go Arp2 on you guys, but there's no apostrophe in Quiznos.

HH gets a tie for first only because there are so many ways you can get a hot dog made there.
