Well I turned on 100.9 this morning and Star 100.9 is officially dead. Variety 101 The Best Mix of the 80s, 90s, and Today is on the air.

I believe Fantasia is using the DIal Global Hot AC feed... I probably should have put in a disclaimer that I've moved back to Fairmont and starting on July 1st I'll be doing sales for Fantasia's four stations (WRLF, WZST, WTCS, and WMMN.)

Another piped in satellite programmed station replaces another. Yawn. Am I the only one that remembers Star 100.9 when they used the Jones Hot A/C feed?

It sounds more CHR and HOT AC than anything else. The program audio sounds much cleaner compared to the old star country sat feed. Who is engineering the Fairmont stations these days?

What I find most interesting was the decision to round up from 100.9 to 101 in the station name. You don't hear of that sort of thing happening with newly-rebranded stations anymore.

First thing that I noticed. Even though I was at "Magic 101" for five years, "Star 100.9" always sounded so cool to me.

"Magic 101" had listeners, though...

That's kind of what I was going for with the proposal. Such is the way that life goes sometimes. I think Morgantown needs a hiphop station, but I understand that it takes deep pockets and patience to make it pay off.

We already got an urban station in Motown.

On U92 it's called the Urban Diner.

They play hot jamz every Saturday night during the school year.

You know what's fun? Tuning in and expecting to hear one thing, then getting something else.. Urban Diner is great, but it is only a specialty show. It's hard to call U-92 an urban station when Timewarp, the classical show, etc. are on.
