The supply gap between where we are today and the much more comfortable, market-based price of several years ago is 2,000,000 bbl/day which we could get from domestic and/or nearby sources. In an effort to forcefully jerk the United States hard to the left, the supply is being intentionally artificially constrained.

You don't have a clue what expensive electric is about in WV, KY, and southern OH. Come to southeastern PA or NJ and pay the bills from PECO (Exelon) or PSE&G where the majority of electric comes from natty gas and nuclear. Pretty close to double what it costs in tri-state. KY'ians are especially lucky due to the fact that the state subsidizes the price of electric through the states coal severance tax.
