Thank you. Couldn't agree more.

Translators are a Pox on the FM radio dial.

Why do you guys have such a problem with such a positive show that depicts people competing and succeeding?
Bizzarre.....

Because its in the TV waste land. Theres nothing on network TV worth 2 shits to watch. I've haven't had my TV on any network (unless its NFL) since the Super Bowl. Give me:
The History Channel
TLC
Discovery
Sci-Fi
Fuck ESPN News is more entertaining than network TV.

Just another low budget reality show, with an endless supply of "look at me, notice me" contestants.Arp2 wrote:Why do you guys have such a problem with such a positive show that depicts people competing and succeeding?

I am surprised that a man of your intelligence wastes time and brain cells on such pablum, Arp ...

I'm with Arp on this one... I think it's one of the best shows on TV.
But I think the format of the show is getting long in the tooth. I hear there will be major changes made to it next year.
And Simon Cowell wasted no time heading back to London for the summer.

Put a band out there and I might be interested. Talent is discovered in two places...churches and bars, NOT by some kind of fucked up popularity contest.

Even PTI is boring right now since it's nothing but NBA and baseball talk. The People's DJ wrote:Arp2 wrote:Why do you guys have such a problem with such a positive show that depicts people competing and succeeding?

They made a step in the right direction by allowing the contestants to play instruments. I am in the camp that the show needs a major overhaul. They need to fire the producers and bring in a production team who understand pop music. This was, by a mile, the shittiest season as far as the idiotic themes. I don't get why the AI producers insist contestants perform 50 year old songs.

To whom on this show would that apply??
You've said that before....I woulda thought you would have learned by now I ain't that smart!I am surprised that a man of your intelligence wastes time and brain cells on such pablum, Arp ...
Besides, what better story is there? What was once just a flicker of talent and hope steadily builds into a celabratory bonfire, and you get to watch it happen and even help! Life-change, especially rapid, is the most exciting thing there is, and AI takes you along on such a ride.

Yes...beginning with the Beatles, it was definitely a season of "hey, producers, be careful what you wish for."
I don't think they went back much more than 40 this year, but that was too far.I don't get why the AI producers insist contestants perform 50 year old songs.
I'm not entirely in the "must live the lifestyle" camp, but all would have to admit it darn sure helps. In this case, the key players are 50-something Brits, so what does one expect? For example, George Michael doing his worst single ever as the big "surprise" payoff near the climax of the show? A loser, loser idea.
