Yesterdays news:

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Police say Ivory Black-Clark poisoned her daughter with medications before she slit her own wrists and hanged herself with an electrical cord.

On Tuesday, Bristol Tennessee Police released more details about their investigation in the murder-suicide of the mother and daughter.

The bodies of Clark, 33, and her daughter Sydney Black, 6, were discovered in their bedrooms in their apartment on the 1800 block of King College Road after they had not been seen in about two weeks, Capt. Charlie Thomas said.

According to a police news release, Clark came home April 11 to find a note from her husband, "stating that he was leaving her and filing for divorce."

That night, Clark filed a police report alleging her husband, Bruce Clark, whom she married on Dec. 1, 2007, had raped her some time between Feb. 3 and Feb. 11, the release indicated. The allegation was unfounded, police said.
