Should CBS-TV shut down the news division?

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Should CBS-TV shut down the news division?

Slate's just afraid that Tony Snow is going to become the new Nightly News anchor. :D

Four thoughts here and a couple of tangents:

1. Who the hell watches nightly news anymore? Seriously. With instant, one click access to any news story which interests you, why bother with the filler? I may, may, tune in during a natural disaster or something but anyone who relies on network news for the news of the day is getting about 1/100th of the story and only 1/100th of the "news". And don't even get me started on what constitutes "news" these days. Good grief.

2. Katie Couric is still pretty hot for her age and she has broad appeal among men and women. But lets face it, she's a nit wit. Still, why not have her back on day time television running an Opera style talk show or team her up with other nit wits to do a View clone?

4. I forgot #3.

#3. Lara Logan, hottest babe on tv. Will literally walk through a firefight for a story. There is nothing sexier than that.

Don't lock her behind a desk, then.
Aircheck? You'd make a great board op.
