ND "retires"?

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

Newsblues:
Less than two years after arriving from Charlotte cable, Ron Miller has announced his sudden "retirement" as news director of WOWK-13-CBS in Charleston-Huntington, WV (Market #65), effective Thursday. He had six months remaining on his contract.

Leeza Glazier will step in as interim news director and becomes the eighth person to hold the job since West Virginia Media Holdings took control of the station in 2002.

Let's see. Six years (roughly). Eight ND's. Ratings: priceless!

Wasn't Leeza a weather guesser at some point? Didn't she get married, and leave the airwaves, or was that someone else at WOWK? I forget.

Leave the Ta Ta's out of it. Leeza is the glue that keeps that newsroom together.

Good for Ron - everyone deserves to get out of that hell hole - no matter what the circumstances!!

ha ha ha ha ha .... you know, ta tas aside, 8's the only station with a grown up running the show now, right?
yah, she used to be a weather person and went behind the scenes when she got knocked up. from weather guesser to EP overnight, and now interim news director. Are they trying to keep her quiet? RM is making a hasty exit, anyone know where he's going? Back to Charlotte? Or is he going to live out his golden years in the crack capitol of huntington?

Thank you all for refreshing my memories. Now that you mention it, I do seem to recall her statuesque figure. Seems to me 13 covered her nuptials as a kicker.

As for RM, the TW Charlotte connection is an interesting angle. Back when WVMH was doing the state football playoffs, guess where Chairman Bray found a production truck?

Why, TW Cable in Charlotte, of course. (The mercenaries from Charlotte were woefully underclothed for the weather in Wheeling, as I recall hearing.)

My guess is that RM saw "the deal", and exited with as much dignity and honor as this business permits. I wish him well in retirement.

There's a battle?

I can't imagine anyone with brains wanting to "run" that shop. Being the Chairman's Errand Boy (or Girl) cannot be much fun.

I have been told Leeza Glazier has had the "interim" removed from her job description as news director.

Doesn't that make WVMH with three NDs out of four, women?
