Gumbel Resigns From NFL Network

Bryant Gumbel resigned from the NFL Network on Friday after two seasons in which his skills as a play-by-play announcer did not match his talent as a studio host. In a brief e-mail message, Gumbel said, “I take comfort in knowing that I tried my best.â€

Good riddance! I have Dish but would watch the games on mute with the Westwood One broadcast audio.

Good riddance -- Gumbel was a horrible choice from the get-go. Tom Hammond is rumored to be the front-runner for the spot.
