What a bunch of crap!!!!

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

I can hardly believe that a school could be so cruel.

The kid should have followed the rules and made arrangements to call his dad at lunchtime or after school. My son is not allowed to disrupt his class by having a cell phone conversation with me (or anyone else) during the school day.

The kid calling his dad is not really an option... at least not an easy or economical one.

That said, dad knows when school is in session and dad is in the Army. He knows the importance of rules, and why they are followed.

I understand your point normally, but the dad is in Iraq. The parents had already talked about this with the administration according to the article.

I got that, but I can't imagine the school saying "just have Dad call his cell phone at anytime. Disrupting class is OK -- don't worry." It seems a mutually agreed upon time during lunch hour or just after school (whatever is necessary to match up with Dad's schedule and time zone in Iraq) for Dad to call would have done the trick.

Thank you, sir. That is the perfectly round head you get from a c-section baby. :-)

That's Audrey May. She was born in September, and has already wrapped me around her finger.

"Dang it! The indoctrination must occur on schedule!"
It seems a mutually agreed upon time...
You don't seem to realize there's a massive faulty assumption in just those words.

"Mutually agreed-upon" implies two equal parties coming together in some sort of voluntary agreement. That is not the case...the parties here are not equal, and there is no voluntary agreement!

The parent is the boss.
The parent is in charge.
The gubmint school workers are not one bit more than lowly employees of the parent.

Period.

Gubmint employees are the paid slaves of the people and should probably genuflect in their presence. You never seem to get that.

Dad calls? Dad calls. Dad called. Get over it, lowly gubmint worker. Dad's your boss. The boss is never an interruption to your work because the boss permits, defines, and is the very reason for your work.

So a 17 year old that joins the Army can be removed from boot camp at any time because a parent wanted to talk on the phone?
