An idea I just came up with. Comments?

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

An idea I just came up with. Comments?

I have a great idea for someone with vision AND resources:

One of the serious issues we're dealing with right now concerns old folks on the highways.. especially those going the wrong way on our Interstates and killing people in the process. We had an Alzheimer's patient just last week here in Charleston travel 5 miles on I-64 before he ran head-on into another car.

As our nation (and especially our state) continues to get older, we have the Baby-Boom generation about to hit that Geezer stage. Lord help us then!

So I'm thinking: What can I do to help alleviate the carnage on my nations highways? All of a sudden I had the answer, as I thought about how they help keep drunks from starting their cars, but instead of blowing into a tube or punching up boring random numbers, I came up with this:

I call it the "Geezer Says Fun Lock"

Image

Your geezer will have hours of fun trying to start his or her car with the Geezer Says Fun Lock! And if they actually get it started, they get to drive!

Here's how it works:

Just like the electronic game of "Simon Says", this device requires the oldster to follow along a sound and light sequence. You, as a family member can pre-set the difficulty from easy to hard, depending on the condition of Grandpa or Grandma. Dont set it too easy however! Make em PROVE they're capable of driving without killing themselves or someone else!

So what do you think? Is this a GREAT idea or what? (I'm willing to share the profits for my idea of course).

And for you moms out there that don't trust yourself or your daughter during that "crazy time of month", I have the.....

PMS FUN LOCK just for you.

Image

Dont get behind that wheel when you're feeling all bloated and ready to kick someones ass! Never again take out your PMS road rage on another innocent driver! With PMS Fun Lock, you can take your frustrations out on the lock itself, because it's made of unbreakable rubber parts that can withstand even the most determined female! Yes, you may break into tears trying to start your car, but at least it's better than killing someone, right? PMS Funlock let's the world know what mood you're in just by being seen on the highway!

The AARP will have fun lobbying against your Fun Lock 8)

Seriously though, the AARP lobbies against anything that targets the elderly. If a bill proposes a required vision test (or mental competency test or whatever) for drivers over 65, Congress gets bombarded with lobbying to vote against it.

There's a reason that The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 only protects those 40 and over. He who has the gold makes the rules.

True, but I AM semi serious about this. But I think lights and sounds would be a more valuable way to tell if a person is capable of driving than say... entering random numbers called-for like some drunk driving devices. The Simon Says tests to your minds quickness... just like the average driving experience.
