Boil Notice Issued, Test Results Pending
After four separate tests come back positive for E. Coli, the Clarksburg Water Board issues a boil water notice for all its customers and the customers of its satellite systems.
Officials with the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health say the presence of E. coli likely indicates the water has been contaminated with sanitary waste.
Because of that possibility, those same officials advise customers to boil water any time they plan to ingest it. That includes, drinking, cooking and brushing teeth.
Officials also advise that customers not wash their hands or bathe unless the water has been boiled for at least one minute.
