Vodka Ad pleases Mexico, pisses off everyone else.

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Vodka Ad pleases Mexico, pisses off everyone else.

The latest advertising campaign in Mexico from Swedish vodka maker Absolut promises to push all the right buttons south of the U.S. border, but it could ruffle a few feathers up North....

The Ad returns the lay of the land in the Americas to what it once was. The map depicts the whole of California as still part of Mexican territory, sporting its former name of Alta California - higher California.

Keep in mind that Absolut’s parent company - Pernod - owns Stolichnaya Vodka as well, along with several other liquors like Beefeater and Wild Turkey. And they aren’t Swedish at all, they're French.

Nothing wrong with that picture at all. With our porous southern border, that's probably more accurate than most of us want to admit ...

And sadly, keeping it porous is the only thing Bush and the Democrats agree on.
