This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

While I blame heavyweight West Virginians for making Tudors Biscuit World the official State Food... ( It's all about self discipline remember? ) I had to laugh when I saw the MAJOR news article about the 'Purple Onion" at the Farmers Market in Charleston deciding to sell "Biscuits & Gravy" at their store.

Why did I laugh? Read this and you'll laugh too:

"We want to try to make lighter biscuits, ones without trans fat," he said. "So right now, that recipe is up in the air.

"The gravy will be the pepper gravy that will not have any animal byproducts in it. It will be like a vegetarian gravy."

Hahahaha! It gets funnier EVERY time I read that!

People... there's certain foods you DON'T MESS WITH:

1.... ICE CREAM: If you're not eating the richest REAL cream ice cream you can find, then YOU'RE NOT EATING ICE CREAM! So stop pretending you are!

2.... COOKIES: Should include LARD and SUGAR and maybe even a little flour. Anything else is a joke and you know it! They're COOKIES! Not HEALTH-FOOD! You knew that going in, so stop pretending you'll live another 20 years by eating low-fat cookies!

3.... BISCUITS & GRAVY: The name says it all! Gravy is made with FAT DRIPPINGS from the bacon or sausage that you fried it in. Add some flour and milk or water and you have GRAVY. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS VEGETARIAN GRAVY... especially in WV! Biscuits: Flour and shortning (lard) water and butter. There ya go. THAT"S biscuits & gravy. Anything else is something that you may have convinced yourself to be B&G but it's not, so don't deny yourself the real thing!

4..... DONUTS: Same as cookies. The Krispy Kreme donut is one of natures most perfect foods. You never mess with perfection! Either it's a REAL donut or it's a round circle of "healthy" garbage shaped like one. Krispy Kremes are "snacks" also, and not meant to be a full breakfast course.

Anything else you can come up with?

Chicken wings should always be hot and sloppy. If your face and hands is not smeared with sauce, you ain't doing it right.

Don't pull the skin off, either.

I was just telling a young lady today that if her face wasn't smeared with sauce that something was wrong.

Buckwheat cakes and sausage. Preston County goodness!
Aircheck? You'd make a great board op.

Buckwheat cakes are MUCH too healthy. Real pancakes have bleached white flour that is drenched with imitation maple syrup. The sausage is OK though!
