That's the call of the new FM in Glenville on 107.7, which is on this morning.
Running oldies. Studios at Weston with the now-25000 watt 980, which seems to be running bluegrass.

They have a website at http://wvrwfm.com/ I wonder if WVRW will be listenable in Fairmont or if WFSP-FM 107.7 will interfere.
That's cool 980 AM now has 25,000 watts. I used to listen to 980 AM occasionally in Fairmont. It came in pretty good for a 1,000 watt AM station.

You know the website looks like something you'd find on Geocities back in 1997...
Oh, sorry. I worked on a repeater station at one point and still have flashbacks to this day.
Anyway, 980 sounded good this morning on I-79 around the Mon/Marion county line. Former Presidential Candidate John Conrad told me about it this morning...

I looked at the expected pattern on WHAW AM. What a reminder of how bad ground conductivity is in the hills of WV, KY, VA, and TN. A 25,000w non directional below 1000 AM should really truck a lot better than that. I am glad someone made the effort in AM though.

Agreed. The bad part is they still have to drop back to 49 watts at local sunset, which should cover Weston and ... uh ... well ...Force Commander wrote:I looked at the expected pattern on WHAW AM. Not even any pre- or post-sunrise authority. At least yet.
Translators are a Pox on the FM radio dial.
