Romney Out

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

So here's my official prediction. I think this is it.

McCain/Huckabee Vs Obama/Clinton in November.

It is slightly possible that Huckabee will hang in until next Tuesday to see if he can make it happen by pulling most of Romney votes. Barring that I have to totally agree with you.

Romney Out
I would have never guessed this.

I figured Huckabee would be the next to bow out.

We could be looking at McCain/Romney, possibly.

Considering McCain's age and his party problems, it makes sense.

Huck will wind up with a cabinet position.

Smart money is still on Hillary, but that could rapidly change. She's still ahead in delegates.

How can that happen? Romney is no longer running.

Romney is no longer running for President.

Doesn't mean he can't accept McCain's offer to be his VP.

McCain's VP choice won't matter. The base hates McCain. Dems get their shot in '08. GOP loses in a landslide.

It's Dole and '96 all over again. You can mark this post.

I agree completely, but I don't think the GOP base will vote for Hillary under any circumstance.
She is considered to be the Anti-Christ.
Obama may get some crossovers, just like Reagan did in '80 and '84 from the Dems.

Oh, no way the conservative base votes for Hillary or Obama. They'll just abstain. Abstention=Landslide. There are some conservatives who don't buy the 'doom and gloom' paranoia. This country has lived thru Nixon, Carter, George Bush Sr, jr., and Clinton. The Republic will survive. Time to remind those in office that they work for us.

I'm with ya... There's too much disarray in the party this year.

Also, if you look at the primary vote totals, dems outnumber republicans almost 2-1 in some states. They want the WH back really bad, and they are psyched. Meanwhile, republicans can't agree on anything. They should've began sorting these issues out last year.

Not to mention that either dem candidate would likely bring in a few swing states, in addition to the typical Northeast-West Coast states.

It's already over.

Exactly.

James Dobson made a statement that he will abstain from voting this year if McCain is the nominee.

Romney suspended his quest, so he keeps his delegates.

There's no way Clinton would be VP to Obama.

I don't see Romney being the VP nominee-too much bad blood. Huckabee would be much more likely, but again, agreeing with an earlier poster, it's going to be a landslide in November for the Dems anyway.

What role for Edwards, if any? He's not going down the VP trail again.

Time for an independent to get in NOW. I nominate Lou Dobbs.

I think maybe the large independent vote could still yield a GOP prez. Hillary vs McCain: John gets the indie vote and at least makes it close. In a normal year he'd win. Obama vs McCain: Barack gets the indies and that's enough to counteract the racial component that we all know is still out there.

Too much personal enmity for McCain and Romney to run together. Romney looking for a run in '12, realizing this election will go to the dems.
Clinton/Obama would give Dems the presidency for the next 16 years. If they are smart enough to do it.

Huckabee thinks the earth is 5000 years old. We've got one of those in office now. That's enough.

To stir up the ant hill, if you believe the earth is only 5000 years old, you must also NOT believe in cell phones, the space shuttle, the speed of light, and plasma televisions. Who can tell me why?

Anybody catch Rove on H&C last night with his chalk board?

He did the electorate math, and showed why Romney got out of the race... He would have to get over 40% of all the remaining delegates to win the nomination. Highly improbable.

With Huck, it's even worse. He would have to win 82% of the remaining delegates to win the nomination. This is a statistical impossibility, as no candidate in the history of this country has done this.

In Rove's opinion, while Huck still has the right to run, he's really just wasting his time at this point, as the delegate math is stacked against him.

Barring a total implosion, McCain is the nominee.

On the dem side, Hillary still has the inside delegate track, despite the Obama momentum.

It was interesting stuff...
