Nickelodeon to go dark

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Nickelodeon to go dark

Post by Force Commander »

On September 29, Nickelodeon, along with its sister digital networks including Nicktoons Network and Nick G.A.S., will go off the air for an afternoon (12 to 3 p.m. ET/PT) in celebration of Nickelodeon’s signature Worldwide Day of Play.

What do you think? Will the kids go play outside, play video games, or switch to the Disney Channel?

It's the three hours a year when they claim they have "social responsibility" (or whatever it's called these days); by going dark, they're supposedly saying, "you kids need to go outdoors and play physically once in a while."
"I don't know the same things you don't know."

"Yes, you do; you just won't admit it!"

Nick did this last year. It is not a new stunt.

I know I just flipped the channel. Ironically, to the one Nick network that was still going. And it was Spongebob, too. Result!
So sayeth His Royal Highness King Spike; greatest broadcasting talent of his generation.
