MB is the #2 most played track on KROQ, down from #1 last week. It's also the #3 most requested.
When KROQ breaks a track, the rest of the alternative format usually follows. So I would consider it a hit.

While I'm proud to be a "dinosaur" (nyah, we still have the best music), comparing Paramore to Zep is like comparing the Power to the Yankees. Two different leagues.
I checked out Paramore, basically because I've never heard of them..
Paramore is more of that emo/pop/punk shit that's on radio nowadays. Basically it's Avril Lavigne with a tad heavier guitar sound. Nothing groundbreaking, just the same ol' same ol' being rammed up the ass by record labels trying ANYTHING to make something stick...I'm looking at YOU...Fall Out Boy!!

The deadline to apply for tickets for Led Zeppelin's one-off reunion at The O2 in London was extended to September 19 after the first day's demand swamped the Web site handling applications.
"We urge people to be patient and to remember this is a ballot system and that all registrations will have equal standing regardless if they register first or last," promoter Harvey Goldsmith said in a statement after the ahmettribute.com site received 5 million hits per hour in the first 24 hours of its launch.
Goldsmith said the service provider did its best to keep the site going and has since moved it to a server of its own. In a 12-hour period during September 13 there were 89.5 million attempts to register at the site.
The November 26, £125 per ticket show is a tribute to Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, who died last year aged 83, and a fundraiser for his Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, which provides students with annual scholarships to universities in the U.K., U.S. and Turkey.
"To the thousands of fans that have already registered, we thank you for your support of the Tribute To Ahmet Ertegun concert and we continue to do our best to ensure that tickets for this show go directly to you and don't end up in the hands of the unscrupulous touts," Goldsmith told the fans.
Successful applicants will be chosen at random and limited to a pair of tickets per household.
Also on the bill are other U.K. artists who Ertegun guided, including Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman, Foreigner and Paolo Nutini.
Led Zeppelin formed in 1968, and quickly became colossal rock icons, setting new records along the way for fan attendance at the band's massive gigs.
The act disbanded after drummer John Bonham's death in 1980, although they reunited for the 1985 Live Aid concert.
The band sold more than 300 million albums worldwide and in 1995 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, joining their mentor Ahmet Ertegun. - John Gammon

Ha ha, I had a feeling that a "Don't mention Paramore in the same thread as Zeppelin" sentiment would come out.
Zeppelin has sold in excess of 300 million albums; I doubt that their place in rock history will be confused with that of an up-and-coming new band. Though "Misery Business" is up to #6 on the Billboard modern rock chart, which is a good start.
It's interesting to note that "Stairway to Heaven" was never released as a single.
It was never SOLD as a single, but was serviced to radio stations as a single. Stairway on both sides, like many radio copies were back then.
Too many Top 40's wanted to play it, so they sent it out.
I used to have a copy but I'm not sure I still do. Too much vinyl in boxes that I haven't seen in years.

You "Holy grail" people are impossible to have decent music discussions without everything returning to your beloved. And how nothing else could ever possibly be as good. Nevermore in the history of the world.
Paramore might have been a poor example to use, but the point is that there is still decent music being made, and it did not end with (insert Holy grail band here).

Yo K-Rock, there's a lot of great music still being made. Unfortunately, Paramore is indeed a bad example. But great music being made now doesn't make it necessary to denigrate the great music made before. You really will have to wait 20 or 30 years before you can say something coming out today is on a par with Zep, or the Beatles, or the Stones,etc. The test of time is still the ultimate challenge.
A lot of bands we thought were great in the 70's don't stand up to it.
Like Shockley's favorite, the Starland Vocal Band.
And yet they sold more records than Paramore probably ever will.
