Only In Logan

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Only In Logan

Post by Dave Allen »

Crews tearing down the old Pioneer Hotel building in Logan swung their crane the wrong way and took out part of a seperate building across the street. Luckily like most building in downtown Logan that one was vacant, too.

Esposito lost his job is a scandal of some sort.
Law license too, I suspect.
Smoke House demise was the end of Logan city, not Wal*mart.

Jeez, you guys are trashing my hometown and that's my job! Logan is actually not doing that badly, mainly because of the B&O tax from Wal-Mart. Retail isn't so hot but with all the governmental offices, lawyers, etc dowtown it keeps bodies in town. Granted, the town does completely close down after 5p and on weekends, but it could be worse.

BTW it was the old Sayer Brothers building (former flower shop) that took the hit.

So what goes in the Pine-Ear hole?
A parking lot? Taco Bell?
Urban Park?

The media doesn't talk about the four lane to Man any more. Did they stop it again or is it just that it's close to election time again?

Once Six Flags gets their state of the art amusement park build over on Route 2, they intend to start construction on 10. Four lanes from Huntington to Logan. You know, it is part of that interstate that's is going in. Disney signed off on building their next cluster of parks once the interstate goes in. They will be built on reclaimed mountain tops near Buffalo Creek.

I'm done.

Sorry, I know I'm not very smart but I did not understand that last post at all.

Anyway, the money "isn't there" they say for the road that USA Today said was one of the top ten most dangerous in America, Rt. 10, Logan to Man. Figures.

You mean to tell me you've never heard the bull shit rumors about...

Nevermind.

Point is, it will never happen. Rt 10 Logan to Man will be just as deadly 20 years from now as it is now.

Face it, southern WV for whatever reason, is not high on the list of priorities. It should be, considering the amount of drugs we move thru here.

In the 90's Pike county KY was the #1 producer of weed east of the Mississippi! In Mingo county, Sheriff deputies were actually the disributors! Now I guess it's mostly crack.
