Damning

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

I find this especially interesting:
A CBS spokeswoman said Altschul "did some checking with family members, and the contribution was in fact made in her name."
If that's not true, then the CBS spokeswoman has, of course, blatantly lied, and the "journalist" has engaged in biased political activity, as has been shown.

If it is true, that's a blatant Democrat laundering of political money to avoid legal limits...and this "journalist" is happily and voluntarily in the middle of it.
"I don't know the same things you don't know."

"Yes, you do; you just won't admit it!"

The best one of all ...
"Journalists don't give up their rights as citizens. They can and should vote; they can and should support candidates," Packer said in an e-mail.

"My readers know my views on politics and politicians because I make no secret of them in my comments for The New Yorker and elsewhere. If giving money to a politician prejudiced my ability to think and write honestly, I wouldn't do it. Fortunately, it doesn't."
This is pretty much a non-story.

It is only a non-story if the information is publicly disclosed in-full.

So, how many more should be on the list that aren't?

I think it should be allowed, with full disclosure, or not allowed at all... which makes this line a little scary...

"MSNBC policy requires journalists to report any potential conflict of interest and to seek approval from the president of NBC News before making any political contribution."

Is there disclosure on what he approves or disapproves?
