From Bob to Blob??

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

From Bob to Blob??

Post by Lee »

From Yahoo:
LOS ANGELES - "The Price Is Right" needs a host, and
Rosie O'Donnell is interested. Very interested. The 45-year-old said on her blog recently that she was meeting with the "Price" people this week and that she "sure would" accept the job if they offer.

"I LOVE THE PRICE IS RIGHT," she wrote, the capitalization underscoring her feelings.

CBS and FremantleMedia North America, which produces the hit game show, have been seeking a replacement for the venerable Bob Barker, who retired this month after 35 years as the show's host.

Among those reportedly in the running are Todd Newton of the E! network, Mark Steines of "Entertainment Tonight," George Hamilton and John O'Hurley. But Barker said O'Donnell is his pick.

"She knows the show," he said backstage at Friday's Daytime Emmy Awards. "There's no doubt in my mind she could do the show. Now, whether they want a lady host, I don't know. I've never heard that discussed. As far as I know, they've only auditioned men."

CBS and FremantleMedia had no comment Tuesday.

O'Donnell's spokeswoman, Cindi Berger, was not specific about the ex-"View" commentator's plans: "Rosie is meeting with several networks about a lot of different ideas."

"The Price Is Right" is filmed in Los Angeles. O'Donnell lives in Nyack, New York, near New York City, with her partner and their four children.
So if she takes over "The Price is Right", would "C'mon on down" have a new meaning?

Then they would have to name the show "Rosie Is Right!" and the new theme song would be "Down On Me" and the Hark would be "Who Wants To Lick Me?" Prizes could range from cars with "special" seat inserts to over-nights at Rosies.

You could say I don't like that bitch!

I think Bob's rally behind this is a big fat "F U" to the network for forcing his "retirement".

Imagine... every year or two we'll be hearing about contract negotiations... "Rosie may not return"... then they'll be the look of disdain on her face when a military person plays (IF a military person ever gets to play again)... and lastly, will Bob's audience really warm to an angry military hating lesbian?

I'll do it. I think a sarcastic host with nothing but contempt for everyone and everything would go like the gangbusters with the daytime audience.

"come on down... and stop acting like a tit."

"Barker's Beauties" would become "Rosie's Roughians," and you'd never be able to figure out any of their sexes.

SNL's "Pat" would do the crowd warm-up.

A strangely high number of the products to price will have come from the "Fem-Dom" section at the nearby Hustler Hollywood.

The little man who yodels his way up to the cliff would suddenly have breasts.......but still look like a man.

In the "Coming Or Going" game, the winning price will always be made by tilting that thing so far to the left that you'd think it would break off or something.

"A new car!" -- never heard again....gas and exhaust, you know.....

"It's a new grill!" -- never heard again....meat, you know.....

No more Kraft products in The Grocery Game....Kraft is part of Altria, which used to be part of Phillip Morris, which is evil "Big Tobacco," you know....

Every sailboat up for grabs will have a "rainbow" sail...no exceptions or substitutions allowed.

Every ocean cruise you'd see in a Showcase....well, although it would be for four, you wouldn't want to be bringing the kids.

Sit anywhere in the audience to the right of Rosie...you're screwed.

Military person in uniform? Against-the-left-wall, off-camera seats for you!

Female and more attractive than Rosie? You ain't gettin' on stage...

Wear tie-dye, all-pink, or leather and chains, and you'll be guaranteed an invitation to "come on down!"
"I don't know the same things you don't know."

"Yes, you do; you just won't admit it!"

"Punch A Bunch" and "Three Strikes" will be rejiggered and then require a line-up of Republicans....

The "Hole In One" game takes on a whole new meaning....
