Nope. Office 2007, Project, MapPoint, Visio, InfoPath, Expressions Designer and Expression Web ran fine along with Acrobat 8.0. (The issues I had with Acrobat were due to Adobe's Nazi like anti-Piracy techniques which can turn a legitimate customer into a criminal trying to get the program to run properly.) Expressions Media sucked wind BIGTIME (It was even worse on 32Bit) with upwards of a minute to load a photo onto the light table workspace.Lester wrote:Did you try doing anything beyond basic tasks using 64-bit? I have yet to determine why I want to use Microsoft Grove? I guess I do not need a third party collabortion product because the company I work at provides a SharePoint portal of which I am an admin.
The drivers for my ATI TV Wonder 650 drivers were sketchy and created many headaches. Supposedly, the catalyst program was supposed to pick the right driver for the OS and tuner, but I had an issue where the sound drivers were being corrupted everytime I installed the recommended updates. (Also the nVidia drivers were not friendly either and I ended up using the lousy Vista default driver.) Since stepping down to 32 bit, I have only had one blue screen because of the ATI drivers and only had to forceably restart the system 3 times. The Media Center Live TV rarely stutters now that I have scaled down to 32bit, but I think that is due to better drivers for my graphics card.
The biggest struggle in the last three weeks has been getting iTunes 7.2 to work properly. It does not play well with Vista and temporarily locks up the computer when I am downloading podcasts.
I was hoping Safari would have a QuickTime fix or an iTunes fix but neither was addressed.FWIW, I would not have attempted the 64bit Ultimate install except for the fact that the Version was included in my licensing. Otherwise, I would just be running plain 32bit Home Premium. Or I would be running 32 bit Business with MythTV.
