So Tony didn't get whacked...

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Great showmanship.

It is funny how McMahon picks PA venues for these events.

And yet no major network is covering the death of what of the biggest business tycoons ever. This kind of shit is why a lot of people like me are FORMER fans of the business. Give me a smelly, hotter than hell high school gym anytime over this shit.

Eeeeeew!

Are you nuts? I've been in the crowds of both and behind the scenes of both, and you do NOT want the smelly, hot gym!

For the first time in I don't know how long, I got interested last night! I even watched it frame-by-frame and came away very impressed. The continuity was perfect...not a thing about the foreground, background, lighting, camera angle, framing, etc changed from Vince's getting in and the explosion. The only flaw was that the exploding limo was empty, and two (non-consecutive) frames allowed you to see that (shoulda placed and posed a lightweight manequin in there).

Why would they shoot it blowing up one night and then shoot it burning the next? How could they preserve the continuity of the vehicle and the scene?

And it's not common for them to get occupancy of a venue two nights before their event...48-72-hour occupancy for PPVs (depends on the scale), 48-hour occupancy somewhat or fairly common for Raw (can definitely be done in 24), and 24 quite common for Smackdown! (easily done in 24).

That's my understanding, at least......

I still ring announce a whole lot of wrestling shows around here. I do it because it keeps me connected to the business I grew up watching. I would much prefer to do that or to go on YouTube and watch Piper/Flair/Dusty/Freebirds/Tommy Rich than to watch John Cena today. The business today is nothing like what I enjoyed while growing up (Georgia/Mid Atlantic, etc). I know I'm in the minority but I also know I'm not the demo Vince is trying to reach.

Ok, now get this.....

A freaky-haired law professor (bio and pic here), among others, has questioned the legality of Vince McMahon being portrayed as having been killed. Based on SEC regulations on disclosing or not disclosing material information about company officers and executives, concern is being expressed about not only the on-air visual of his "death" but also (and especially) the subsequent press release that stated that "Chairman" Vince McMahon was "presumed dead." Especially by referring to him by his title as an officer of the company in that press release, WWE may have viloated the associated SEC regulations.

Something semi-related here....
