American Idol Finale'
I checked in to see what those who watch American Idol thought about the finale'. You know my feelings on this crap, but I do keep up with it to talk about it on the air. I watched the finale' last nite and most of the people who saw it with me in the bar lost interest in it about 20 minutes into it. And WTF was that Beatles Medley? Jesus that sucked!
Titties and beer...thank God almighty for titties and beer!

I found myself wishing I would have started watching it (on DVR) at 9....I'm 100% positive I would have caught up before the winner was announced.
I thought it was strange how so many of the songs had come straight from that weird movie Peter Frampton, the Bee Gees, and Steve Martin did.
(That weird movie is coming up next week on Encore, by the way.)
And nobody needs to see Bette Middler ever again. (By the way, I'm guessing she had no ears.) And I can't figure out why I needed to see Jerry Springer one time, let alone three!
Boy....did Clive pretty much trash Taylor (and/or the show and its voters), or what?

Help me out.....I tend not to follow gossip.Lee wrote:The thing that stuck out for me was Kelly Clarkson's performance.
Only because they kept getting shots of Clive Davis.
I'm sure a few of you know THAT story.

Basically, she decided with this next album to go out on her own...write
her own songs etc. Most of them are pretty angst ridden(ala Alanis Morrisette). Well, Clive heard it and sat it on for awhile...he finally decided to go ahead and release it.
Meanwhile her first single from it is going like gangbusters.....
I got all of this gossip from the article in Entertainment Weekly....
(I think the latest edition but not sure)....
CHR folks probably know more about it then this country chick...

And Fantasia. Man, I was sooooooo thankful she wasn't at the show last night (she was the only past Idol missing). Anyone know the scoop?Arp2 wrote:Boy....did Clive pretty much trash Taylor (and/or the show and its voters), or what?
I asked my wife how she thought Taylor felt being Daughtry's bitch.

A key point, iirc, was Clive wanting her to remake a Lindsey Lohan song... YES YOU HEARD ME CORRECTLY! Apparently it wasn't a big enough hit for LL, so Clive wanted another shot taken with Kelly who said "Wha?!?!?!" and Clive was like "Ya hurd me" and Kelly was all like "Nu-uh" and Clive said "whaeva" and Kelly was like "Oh no you di-unt".
And Kelly is kicking ass, and CD is looking like a dumbass.

I was in the audience for the Tuesday and Wednesday night shows. Here's some random things:
I thought tuesday's show was much better. Maybe because it was only 1 hour as opposed to 2.
Kelly Clarkson kicks ass.
At the press conference after the Tuesday show, Blake (without actually saying it) infered that Jordin would win...and that she wiped the floor with him. Blake played 2nd banana during the presser.
Mad props for finally getting a hip hop influence on the show. After the Doug E Fresh/Blake performance, I literally stood up and cheered like a idiot. Very cool moment.
Green Day was NOT live at the theater. I repeat, Green Day was not live. It was previously taped. (I'm thinking maybe from dress earlier that day)
Thought that went through my head at one moment: I've now seen Tony Bennett and Bette Midler perform live.
There was a weird moment during a commercial break where they did a "Simon Cowell, this is your life" thing...but it never went anywhere. We were asked for applause twice for it. The audience was lost as to what was going on.
Was Paula coming across as fucked up on TV as she was in the studio?
AI finale night is no longer about AI except the last 5 minutes. It's more of a promotional vehicle for other artists.
I saw Jeri Ryan at the AI after-party. Her boobs don't look that big in real life. She is crazy smokin hot though.
A bunch of us hijacked a VIP room inside the VIP after party. We made one of the jocks stand out front of the room (it had light drapes to cover the entrance to th room). After an hour of being in there (and making people walking by wonder who was in there) the head of security walked up to the jock standing guard and said "I don't remember hiring you." After an explanation, the HOS thought it was funny and let us continue with the room hijack.
I missed Blake by 30 seconds at the KIIS after-party. He was walking in as I walked out.
Some people take their 15 minutes of fame WAY too seriously.

There ya go. That, right there, may be the funniest answer to a question posed on this board. Funny as hell!
Darrin, I appreciate your insight. I wanted to go to the AI finale but the AI execs mailed my tickets to my neighbors house. Those dolts.

I've noticed that.
But, then again, it's a singing competition.
Yeah, it was. I've occasionally thought I'm the only guy in the midwest who's familiar with him, but I know, of course, that that's not true.....After the Doug E Fresh/Blake performance, I literally stood up and cheered like a idiot. Very cool moment.

i found B.L. in the audience. if you draw a line from simon's left ear to the other dudes right nipple (or where it should be) then draw a line following the spine of the book.... he's sitting one seat left of where the 2 lines bisect.... see the chrome dome???
i edited the pic with an arrow, but can figure out how to post it on here...
btw, who's the giant banana with the bright ass smile just off standing dudes left elbow???
I'm not an idiot, but I play one on the radio.

Ah! ITV in the UK are bringing "This Is Your Life" back. Again. It's a remake of an American format from the 50s where a celeb is surprised by the host brandishing the big red book - they then disappear off to a studio where all their celeb friends and family members tell 1 second anecdotes about them.

There's Laurel and Hardy's TIYL from 1954.

Actually, I was in the 1st Mezzanine.
I was also told that I could be seen on the Tuesday show. Ryan did an intro from the seats, and he was standing in our section. I was told: "I saw a bald head...so it must have been you."
