WTRF is just hard to watch. Except for the Chief Meteorologist on WTOV (you have to capitalize it, he's that important), Channel 9 is at least tolerable.

I'm somewhat surprised that the numbers are that close, relatively speaking, for 6 a.m. and noon, as compared to the Charleston-Huntington numbers. I realize it's only a two-horse race in this market. However, when speaking of 6 p.m. and 11, close is not a word to describe that chasm.

As to someone stating what 3's numbers would be if they weren't affiliated with NBC, consider that WTRF has the top three networks, while 9 has only RTV on a subchannel. Since at least the early 90s, WTOV has consistently outhustled 7 in every way imaginable, and their owners spend money that WTRF desperately needs to be viable.

Also, I find WTOV more than tolerable, IMHO. Eric Minor is a seasoned professional that could easily go up the food chain, as have many of his co-anchors over the years. And, I'll be honest...the ladies are easy on the eyes, as well as being more-than-competent reporters and coanchors.

I just realized this was my 666th post...I had a devil of a time getting here.
