The mess in Lincoln County is nothing new. West Virginians have been stuffing the ballot box since WV became a state. We are well aware of all the dead people who still vote here.
Today on Talk Line, the Lincoln County Commissioner was interviewed. He also happens to be a physician. In glancing at the voter rolls during this investigation, he noticed 3 names familiar to him: They were his patients who had died. Somehow they returned to life long enough to vote once more.
It's not like we expect voter fraud to completely go away... it's just that people do it so blatantly today that it's astonishing.

In Mingo county, I was registered Democrat and Republican, though I had never registered anywhere at all. I found out quickly the rumors about the grave yards lighting up before elections were true. About two months before an election you could see the flashlights looking for the newly deceased. Once your name was on a "list", it never came off. Complain and they burn your house/apt. down! (Or cut your brakes)

This is why I don't vote in the primaries... It's the same old dopey hicks that mess everything up, yet keep getting re-elected. The fix is already in before you even vote.
Who is on the ballot? Let's see... There's Cletus C. Sr., Cletus C., Cletus P., Cletus T., Cletus C. III, and "the guy formerly known as Cletus". *Sigh*
I also don't understand why the "Democrat" party title still means so much here... The party left the average West Virginian decades ago. If anything, the progressives who run it today have outright contempt for them and their way of life. The "JFK" Democrats are long, long gone.
