The Polish jokes write themselves... again

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

The Polish jokes write themselves... again

Post by CoolBreeze »

While I'm not a big fan of Polish jokes, especially in the wake of such a tragedy, I cant help but wonder how such a tragedy could happen in the first place. Here's just a few of the facts:

1... The Russian aircraft was 30 years old. What head of state flies in a 30 year old Russian aircraft?

2... This aircraft had a long history of issues and crashes. Why use such an aircraft?

3... The Polish pilot had every opportunity to use another airport, yet he made 3 or 4 attempts to land in thick fog. He is carrying his nations leaders, and STILL he took such a stupid chance?

These are the kinds of things that can make a stereotypical view of a people continue forever, and it's simply not necessary. But you KNOW this will continue to add fire to the flames of stupid Polish jokes.

Having said that however, I had a choice to choose Polish Airlines or SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) for my trip to Europe this year. Polish Airlines was cheaper, but..... I simply couldnt bring myself to pick them. Stereotypical? Let's say this: Whenever you're getting ready to fly and you get a "funny feeling" about it... go with your gut. This has saved me countless of times on over 2,300 flights.

No, not like that at all, because had they been carrying the President of the United States, they wouldn't have been doing anything except safely taking off... especially from Yeager.
