I think Obama knows that KSM will not walk out of that courtroom, as allowing a tactical blunder of that magnitude would effectively end his presidency in disgrace. Impeachment proceedings would be drawn up virtually the same day, by demand of the American People. So, I don't see the "worse case scenario" happening. The administration would have never green lighted this venue if this was a real risk.

However, the fact that Holder & co. pushed for this venue despite its unpopularity among Americans reveals a lot about this administration's world view paradigm... They obviously don't view acts of terrorism -- including something as dramatic as 9/11 -- as a declaration of war, but rather a criminal act of breaking the law.

Terrorism goes well beyond "breaking the law", and should be handled accordingly. An admitted terrorist who is not a US citizen has no business being tried in a US civilian criminal courtroom, imo.

So enemy combatants should face the civilian court system... that's what you're saying, right?

Like I said in a previous post, I don't mind if they face either court system. I believe that both are entirely capable of handling it. And I think a conviction will be easier in a civilian court. As long as they face justice, what does it matter?
Of course, justice is not to be confused with revenge. That's not what either court system is for.
