Another Obama Milestone

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

So you admit that all of the current over-the-top, hard right GOP theatrics aimed at President Obama are nothing more than revenge for the complaints against George Bush and the fact that you guys lost your asses in the 2008 general election ...

You must admit to the tactics of the previous 8 years first.

I don't think the freedom to say and think all those things should be abridged in any fashion. It just drowns out any credible things those people have to say (if there are some of those anymore) and it just makes it impossible for me to listen, watch, and read for the same exact reason I can't listen to CHR/AC stations. Every time I tune in it is a bad song that I have already heard twenty thousand times.
Is there some irony in the fact that Glenn Beck came out of CHR radio Jay?

Nunley is wise.
We live in a hyper-partisan age. We expect things, good or bad, to happen RIGHT NOW. We want everything, no matter how complicated, reduced to an 8 second sound bite.
There's a very good article in the latest Newsweek (the Palin cover) describing how Eisenhower and Reagan each worked with both sides of the aisle, often angering "the base". Especially in Reagan's case, where he came from the right wing of the party, he was still good at cooperating with Dems and Repubs on issues. The point of the article being that no matter how far right or left "the base" is, you must govern from the center. A point lost on W, and the current Congressional leadership, attempted early on by Obama, but not so much now since being rebuffed by the Republicans on most everything.

Not a point lost on W, a point that was REJECTED by the left. Compromise doesn't mean giving the other side their way, with no middle ground... and that's what the left wanted, so they could crow about "partisanship".

Sorry, but the Republicans watched 8 years of liberal whining, bitching, and crying turn into a presidential win for the liberals... so they stole the playbook.

The liberals aren't doing themselves ANY favors in this regard by failing to notice that the Republicans lost (why does Palin keep getting press?), that independent voters supported Obama (but didn't drink the Kool-Aid, therefore they expect results), and that years of "Clinton's success had nothing to do with Bush '41", and "Bush '43 was totally responsible for 9-11" from the left has destroyed ANY hope they have (with reasonable Americans) of blaming where we are today on the President that's now gone.
The only disagreement I have with you on this one is the the amount. There was a huge bunch of this from the right when President Clinton was in office. Even throwing out the insane garbage like President Bush was behind the 9/11 attacks there was an incredible amount of bullshit from the left. That whole thing about My Pet Goat in the classroom is the example that sickened me the most. I think there is much more now with President Obama. Not just a little more, but a staggering and unimaginable amount.

We must consider both of our perceptions on this begin with our own political mindsets (which makes quanitifying it impossible just like quantifying media bias is impossible). Also, because there is no liberal talk radio at all (that I can hear), no watchable liberal tv (other than John Stewart), and few liberal columnists worth reading my perception of the amount is going to be skewed even further.

One thing I should have said from the beginning is the lunatic left drives me insane as much as right wing turkey basters. I have no political affinity for these assheads either. They're the reason the right had such an easy time turning the word "liberal" into a negative and to change the meaning of the word entirely. They're also the reason Democrats can't get anything done. They're a weight around the neck of real Democrats.

Al Gore must have thought it was a waste of bandwidth (he invented bandwidth)
and deleted it. You can get it back if you buy some carbon credits from him.
As the self proclaimed inventor of the internet, he has super internet powers.

I had similar problems yesterday. A new feature prompts you to examine
posts to the board since you started typing. If there is an interim post it
will not let your post process without your OK. There is a line on the page that says this.
You may think of it as a Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy, but it is a feature
to save posters from themselves. If you click the correct place, your post will be processed.

Mmmmm ... no. I'm not finger pointing. I just wondered if it was user error on my part or if the board hiccuped.

*I* posted "checkmate" at 11:36am.

The only hiccup I've seen is the one Genlock is discussing, and that is by design. If you start a reply and someone else posts before you hit SUBMIT, it kicks it back to the edit screen and shows you the new post so you can adjust your text (if necessary).

Same thing happened to me. I posted right after Jay's latest. In my case, it probably was operator error. But it was on the board for at least a while.
