Some thoughts on the MF thing. Jazz fusion being what it is, or was, a disco-ized version of anything can hardley be berated for being just that. Conti's original was best, MF's homage was great in it's own way. Hey, just because The Allman Brothers Band's Dreams is a masterwork doesn't mean Molly Hatchet's cover is not excellent in it's own way. What is the use of ranking music? Music is good for you or not. Can't we all just get along? All I am saying, is let's give peace a chance.
