I must say, after all of this, I feel kind of sorry for Mark's family. I seriously don't know how they put up with the backlash from all his antics.

I must also say, if he's that close to Wal-Mart, I can easily understand his plight. Imagine a busy shopping mall, complete with bright lights, traffic, traffic, and more traffic, suddenly appearing in your front yard.

However, I would have stayed low key. Now that EVERYONE and their uncle Bob knows where Mark lives, I imagine he has just opened himself up to more problems.

A douche is a douche, of course, but I totally get why he is so frustrated by Wal-Mart's presence.

The sound from the 18 wheelers and regular traffic on the interstate was and still is a lot louder than the noise generated by the Walmart. I have lived here since before the interstate was built. Hallburn is a recent transplant to the area who thinks that his .6 acre lot and house should be worth at least $350,000, to Walmart. His property isn't even worth $80,000 at current real estate prices as assessed by the Assessor. Maybe less with the heavy equipment site ajoining his lot. The view from space is at least 3 years old and doesn't show the contruction of the current building and parking lot. Yes, he is close to Walmart, but not "entitled" to the inflated wealth he thinks he deserves. In the winter, he'd never starve because of bad road conditions, he can always walk to the Walmart deli.

The only job yet, he has not been fired from, is his future job as a Walmart Greeter.

There is a very good possibility that Wal*Mart tried to pay him to go away, and he wanted more than the property was worth.

As a matter of fact, I seem to recall him posting something of that nature... them offering him a "laughable" amount, sans specifics.

Legally it's almost impossible to "libel" a corporation.

So any sort of lawsuit would have almost 0 chance of success.

Also, in US libel/slander law (unique amongst most all nations) we don't have CRIMINAL slander/libel laws, but CIVIL ones, and TRUTH is an absolute defense against such accusations.

Meaning you can slander and libel to your heart's content and NOT be jailed, just in hock for cash (you cannot be jailed for a civil charge).

Over the past few weeks, I have been harassed here and on other forums by “people” that have NO CLUE about what my family and I have endured through the past several years. Now an “Internet radio show” has joined the list. All of you have a few things in common:

1) You have NEVER taken the time to meet me or even speak with me or view the videos that we have of the excessive construction and traffic noise.

2) You choose to take pot shots at me and my family using anonymous names on Internet forums and other places.

3) You are clueless.

4) You want to talk about EVERYTHING EXCEPT the excessive noise that is the root of this issue.

5) In many cases, including but not limited to the “egg at Andes business” you have lied in order to paint me to be a lunatic. The real lunatics are those that shoved a Walmart into 35-year-old neighborhood without doing things to protect the nearby homeowners.

6) You have proven to be more than mean.

I refuse to subject my family to your continued abuse. I would not do this to YOUR families!

Therefore, I am removing the “Enduring the Hurricane Walmart” blog from PutnamLIVE.com. I will continue the blog privately for my own records.

I wish you well. I hope you can sleep at night, literally and figuratively.

While at WEMM, I'd hear stories about him calling the offices and telling them how he'd make the station better, or something like that. He'd call ALL THE TIME to talk to whoever would listen to him...until they would hang up on him. He'd basically aircheck the entire station.

I *think* it was the day after Geoff Sturm (PD) passed away...someone found Hallburn's resume' on the floor. I guess he put it under the door thinking they would read it and understand the awesomeness that is Mark Hallburn.

Didn't work. To this day the man will always be a piece of shit trying to use a man's untimely passing as a way to get a job.

Mark, there's one thing you need to add to your life...one action that is vital to you actually doing something and getting what you want....

It's the "post-mortem."

After an event or interaction, ask, "Okay, how'd that go? What outcome did I want in that? Did I actually get the outcome I wanted in that? What worked? What worked really well? What didn't work? What needs to be modified before I do that again? What needs to be done totally differently the next time? What needs to be completely eliminated before I do that again? Do I ever even want to do that again?"
