Simple. Capitalism as we practice it had an epic failure in 2008 thanks to corrupt bankers and brokerage firms. 8 million people lost their jobs. Capitalism...don't let your heart stop...may be imperfect.
If capitalism is so great, and I'm not saying one way or the other, why do all the countries the right wing calls socialist ( which is apparently everybody else but us), all have higher standards of living, longer life spans and better technology?

Exactly.. Combine that with the recent Supreme Court ruling which now allows Corporations both American and Foreign to spend cash on the American "Manchurian candidate" of their choice, the continued tax breaks for the rich that allows them to create those invisible jobs, as well as the previous wars that Americans have fought and died in all for the benefit of Big Corps and the Military industrial complex and here we have the Corporate States of America..

Only the big corps though.. Gotta maintain that current ratio of the top 400 people in America making as much money as the bottom 150 million combined...

Gotta make sure that we do all we can for that top 3%... As for the other 97%??? Oh, we just brainwash as much of them was we can with false piety and Jingoistic Nationalism...The ones that we can't brainwash we will just label as liberal socialist, commie, nazi, marxist, or whatever other ist or ism that scares our blind followers into shouting them down...

And if the big corps fail?? Oh, don't worry, there will be another fake crisis right around the corner where the big corps make the lower and middle classes pay for their mistakes... All under the guise of freedom, democracy, god, guns, Skynard, the Constitution, Charlton Heston, or whatever else works...
