Hiding research results, modifying results, lack of competent peer review
and violation of almost all processes of the scientific method reduce the entire
concept to that of a poorly thought out religion, at best.
Once the politicos get involved, grant monies are at stake.

the Huntington paper printed that the tempt. for the last many years (a lot of years) the average temp has risen 1.1 degree. this was over a whole lot of years. i can't understand how the temp going from -60 degrees to -58.9 degrees could cause the melting of ice. must be from all that hot air from Washington!

I was around for Global Cooling. Funny how science works. When the data emerged that proved it wrong, scientists dropped the theory. Should data emerge that proves global warming wrong, the same thing will happen.

Here's the bottom line, a point I've mad several times on here in different threads that no one has been able to refute; Global warming is either real or not.
If it's real we need to do something to minimise its effects or suffer disastrous consequences.
If it's not real and we do those very same things, the only thing that happens is we clean up our environment, breathe less polluted air, lessen our dependence on fossil fuels and create millions of jobs in an entirely new paradigm of industry.

The only way we can lose is to do nothing.

And btw, that new industry is already here. The US has 3 options in this, lead, follow or get out of the way.

D: The fact that they sitck to a talkng point like that, that has nothing to do with whether or not Climate Change is real, is proof of just how much they respect their own base... Not at all..

I will agree that:

Global warming could be happening.
A rare, brutal winter with a few brutal snowstorms does not disprove global warming.
A cleaner, greener environment at face value is a good thing we should all strive for.
Lessening our dependence on fossil fuels over time is not a bad thing.

I don't agree that:

Humans are almost entirely responsible for global warming.
A rare, brutal winter with a few brutal snowstorms proves global warming.
Cap & Trade at this time, and in its current form, is the answer. It would plunge entire states into economic depressions. It is economic fascism.
Lessening our dependence on fossil fuels this drastically in such a short time is possible. Or economically responsible.

It is fact that man does cause it,.. The only debate left is "How Much" and "what can we do about it"

The reason why Fox News and other assorted morons like them continue to make asses of themselves is because they try to use the fact that its snowing to somehow disprove "Climate Change".

I have said it before and I am going to say it again.....

The amount of carbon dioxide spewed by modern man does not have the amount of impact on the environment as Al Gore's Enviro-nazis claim. And when the Vikings came to America in the year 700, they left a country filled with farms and pasture land called Greenland. And the Hudson River used to freeze over at NYC every year until about 1800. Did George Washington and the Continental Army burn too much whale oil in the fighting of the redcoats to change the environment and keep New York harbor from freezing? Its a conspiracy and those damn Free Masons are to blame. They are in cahoots with the Vatican and changing the climate of the Earth to make it more hospitable for Satan.

Now, for the real story... The snow on the east coast is a result of El Niño and not "Global Warming" and the people should have know that the east coast was going to get its arse kicked with white stuff when NOAA released the beginning of this typical climate cycle that changes weather around the globe. Plus the Earth is coming out of a miniature ice age which extended the ice caps of the polar regions and made Greenland look like Antarctica. Are we helping the process with CO2 emissions? Yes, but it is not as bad as the environmentalist claim plus it is not as dangerous as when the Romans smelted so much lead for pipe and materials that the air was filled with lead vapors that traveled all over the globe.
