Ryan Seacrest is the biggest no talent ass clown in the history of radio that for some reason has been judged the 2nd coming of Casey Kasem and Dick Clark.

He isn't a boil on their asses. He's boring, stupid, and generally only entertaining to those with an IQ lower than the floors in the tallest building in Huntington.

In case you never noticed, Casey was never much of a talent, either. He was in one of those "wow, what an amazing gig to have...if you can get it" gigs. But what you perceive as the quality of a countdown host is really the quality of the countdown's writer(s) and producer(s).

I think Ryan clearly is the next Dick Clark, and, for that, I'll give him all the credit in the world. I'll also give him (almost) all the credit in the world for his KIIS morning show; if I were in LA, I'd listen to it and enjoy it. That doesn't mean that I'll ever have an interest in listening to his canned generic shows from a couple thousand miles away, though.

Dave Poole once filled in for the country countdown... he said that they had everything written out and they did take after take to get it just so perfect. Those countdown shows are so much a product of those behind the scenes and not the person at the mic.

He rules.

Seacrest does not.

Seacrest is the living definition of an "ass clown" (A+ on proper use of an explicative), but he is not "no talent".

I can't stand him or any of the radio or TV he does, but he does those things really well. The fact that he is good at it makes me hate him a little more.

Nunley speaks with words of wisdom. LIke Dees before him, you may not like him, but you can't argue with his ratings success. Like the guy at V-100 who's been there for eternity (sorry, can't remember his name). I never thought his show was much, but a lot of other people did.

As I've said in the past, automation, voice tracking, faking but not achieving locality, slamming crap in from the satellite is not sustainable, not in this age of alternative means of delivering radio.

The audience can just go straight to the source with a satellite radio, or by listening to radio via broadband.

AUTHENTIC LOCALITY is the only way radio survives.
