Hell, a friend of my mom's once commented on how, with 3 boys, she was glad she didn't have a daughter for that very reason.

And since I'm pretty sure this little comment has insured he won't be re-elected in '08, why does anyone care about this? He's just as irrelevant as Al Gore, but at least he has a sense of humor.

He's the senior Senator from West Virginia who defended the citizens of West Virginia from a nationally-broadcast joke/insult made by none other than the Vice President of the United States. Good for Senator Byrd!

When was the last time the old byrd has been in this state for longer than two seconds? Or have something named after him?

Token outrage, just to get his name out there.

And wasn't Byrd in a DC-area hospital, "relaxing" (knocked out) under observation, when "his" response was issued? And how come none of "his" responses for years have "sounded" like him?

And where's your outrage about Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Iowa, or Nebraska -- or even Ohio or Indiana -- stereotypes and jokes? Principle is principle....gotta be consistent!
