If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

So all we need to know is the new format for WRVC-AM/FM
Maybe W1RVC could fill us in?

94.1 has a hell of a footprint for 10 watts.
Maybe on the WKEE tower overlooking the 17th Street West bridge?

Speak to us, Charles. What's next?

It would be really funny if Southern Com in Beckley ever tries to move WAXS to Mossy with their other signals.

That TX location is line-of-sight almost to Cabell County. They're a licensed B, too.

Here's one of their signal's footprints. I would assume the new coverage would be similar.

The pattern looks like a fish.
Dead, laying on it's side.
Will the final location be in 5th Ave broadcasting HQ?
Located on 4th Ave.

I honestly don't see any reason to kill the Dawg at this point, since it's achieved near parity with WTCR (unless it's just not getting the revenue it should be getting for it's ratings, remember, revenue trumps ratings). And since Kindred has applied for a STA for a FM translator for an AM, you can bet that it's 930 that will be rebroadcast on 94.1.

I still like the oldies format idea though :) ESPN can't be doing that much for them in $$$. And WCMI 1340 has no chance when competing with all the 50kW FM taxwastes who are broadcasting the same leftist schlock.

Love seeing the call letter change there on 92.7 ;)

I only see two "leftist schlock" (NPR, if I recall that Blair vernacular correctly) stations listed in the market. The West Virginia Overpowered Translator Borg on 89.9 and Ohio University on 89.1. Both stations have different programming. Of course, you wouldn't know that because 'ya don't actually listen ...

Here's how to tell them apart...

89.1
NPR News
Music for depressed aging hippies, sometimes hosted by depressed aging hippies
"Acoustic lesbian channel" (can't remember where I heard this joke, maybe in reference to WYSO in Yellow Springs, Ohio)

89.9
NPR News
"Nazi funeral music" (thanks Genlock)
Frank stumbling through the world's longest Legal ID

:D
