WTRF's ABC/FOX OV now HD over the air...or at least on DTV!

So I was just watching Law & Order SVU when that Khol's commercial came on (you know, the one they are running with Orange and White flying around). As I was thinking it was trying to give me a seizure, I decided to not want a sodding headache and just flip the channel down one on my DirecTV to let that commercial end.

What I ended up discovering was something I've been complaining to whoever would listen for months now finally being addressed and now seemly fixed.

I found out that WTRF's Fox and ABC subchannels are now in HD on Direct TV, and possibly over the air now. It's mainly confirmed that ABC is at least in HD for good because DTV switched the ABC logo to the HD version (where it adds "HD" after the ABC dot) on the channel banner, whereas it only had the plain ABC logo without the HD addition. Nothing about the FOX station on the banner is changed because DTV seems fit to also mention to us that WTRF also broadcasts My Network TV on that channel (at 1AM, mind you...not that MNTV is in any way relevant anymore, but still), so they really can't display anything there as long as they keep wanting to inform us that MNTV exists on the channel.

This must've happened recently, too. Someone posted something about why they can't get an HD feed of those channels on DTV as recently as Feb 23rd. Not sure if it was that post that got them off their asses about it or them realizing "wait a sec, why AREN'T they in HD" (doubt it since they probably have had complaints for some time now about this), but regardless, to us DTV subscribers, this is an awesome change. This also puts into question if they upgraded all of the WVMH subchannels in the same way now.

I think I explained how annoying it was to watch FOX, especially, on DTV or OTA. The Fox Sports score bug got cut in half by the edge of the screen when WTRF's CBS feed went HD, then they fixed it back to what it was originally: the black bar sandwich approach that happened whenever you were watching FOX on a SD channel (so they didn't have to scrunch their logo bugs; lazy bastards). I refused to watch anything on FOX because of this, and though I didn't boycott the ABC channel as hard, I've gotten so spoiled on HD (and because they were being dicks about signing waivers to get anything in HD for FOX and ABC while WVMH sat on their hands about the issue) that it was pretty hard to pull myself to watch anything on ABC unless it was something like Rockin' Eve in which it's become a tradition to watch regardless.

So, yeah, hope this is permanent, and I'm wondering when they decided to finally do this!
